Other BC municipalities started the new MMBC program in May. Why is Anmore starting August 1?
The start of MMBC’s recycling program in Anmore coincides with other changes planned by your municipality to your household garbage program.
Will I receive a new recycling box?
Yes. You will receive a new, light-blue box for your non-deposit glass containers and jars.
Beginning on your first recycling day in August, start sorting your recyclables as follows:
• Use your existing dark blue box for containers
• Use your new light blue box for non-deposit glass bottles and jars
• Use either or both of your reusable recycling bags for paper recyclables.
A recycling guide that outlines your new service will accompany your new box.
If I am getting a new blue box for glass, will I receive new boxes for other recyclables?
You will continue to use your existing blue box and reusable recycling bags. A Recycling Guide providing details will be delivered with the new blue box.
Will I have to pay for this recycling service?
No. Under the BC Recycling Regulation, businesses that supply packaging and printed paper to BC residents are responsible for managing recycling programs. MMBC will use fees paid by businesses to cover recycling operating costs.
Am I going to have to pay for my recycling box?
No, the recycling box is being provided by MMBC.
When will my new box arrive?
Delivery dates vary by street starting in July, but the box will be at your door in time to start using it on August 1.
When should I start using my new light blue box for glass?
Start using your new box for glass when MMBC’s recycling program begins August 1. In the meantime, recycle as usual.
Is my municipality still involved with my recycling program?
No. Anmore will not provide residential recycling after August 1. The businesses that supply packaging and printed paper to residents will be responsible for providing recycling services. MMBC will be delivering the services on behalf of these businesses.

How will I know what to do beginning August 1?
Inside your new box will be a Recycling Guide that will explain what to do starting on August 1. Until then, please recycle as usual.
Does this information affect my garbage collection day?
Your recycling and garbage collection will be on the same day, and your local government will provide information about garbage collection.
